Every once in awhile I like to jump on tour with a new novel coming out from authors I've never heard of in attempt to broaden my blog's scope and my own personal horizons. I really love promoting authors who are up-and-coming in their genres and adding their books to my TBR list to check out myself. I definitely think Leave a Mark sounds like a cute novel with great promise. Don't believe me? Read an except and be the judge. Also, Jen Halligan PR kindly provided an International Giveaway for a $25 Amazon Giftcard! Much thanks to Jen Halligan PR for brining this ... Continue Reading...
Review: Beyond the Red
This book is simply amazing. Ignoring the obviously gorgeous cover, the lovely prose and fantastic world building, this novel will make the top of my 2016 favourite list because the story itself was quite simply awe inspiring. I'll definitely be buying this novel the next time I go to Chapters because not only will it look sexy on my shelves, but this author is worth supporting. We follow the alien queen Kora who struggles with her recent rise to power following the death of her royal parents. Her bloodthirsty brother also has an eye for the throne and begins to ... Review: The Girl from Everywhere
I'm not sure where to begin with this book so I'll just dive right in. The Girl From Everywhere is a novel that isn't quite YA but not really Adult lit either. I'm not entirely sure how successful this novel will be with young readers, but I can see the allure for older young adult readers. The novel deals with independence, family and the struggles experienced on the cusp of adulthood which I think probably makes this book in a strange quasi-YA land rather than fitting into either niche. Either way, it was the imagery and world building of this book that really ... Continue Reading...
Review: To Catch a Lady
It looks like January is the month of historical romances and To Catch a Lady was part of that trend. The novel begins with Ashton Blakely, Duke of Summerton, who's aunt is forcing him to settle down and marry. The last thing Ashton wants is to marry and share his life with a woman - he is entirely happy with the way his life is now. Ashton hatches a plan to hold an elegant ball that features a scandalous lottery containing the names of all the eligible young women of the ton because he doesn't care who he married as long as she provides a heir. A perfect plan! ... Continue Reading...
