I posted about this before, but I’ve been part of a really neat blog creativity project called The Book Blogger Creativity Project which is the brain child of the lovely Nori (Read, Write, Love). The sole purpose of this Project was to bring together bloggers in the spirit of creativity and friendship through a group project. I have developed some new friendships and really enjoyed being part of the Pink Team: Erica from Escape Under the Cover, Kailia from Life According to a Bibliophile; Kj from Birds that Love Words, Let from Other Side of Ordinary, Maggie from The Novel Orange, Nori from Read Write Love, Orchid from The Haunting of Orchid Forsythia, Veronica from Grounded Wanderlust and Brittany of Book Addicts Guide. Our group chose to work on developing lists of really amazing reads related to specific seasons. It’s honestly been such a pleasure and honor working with so many talented bloggers during this project! |
I chose Fall for this seasonal event because its my second favourite time of the year. Sure, summer is the time for fun and sun, but Fall is the time to reinvigorate and delve into the darker parts of our book shelves. I like the darker aspects of literature and Fall is the perfect time to spoil myself without looking a bit odd reading literature that deals with death, paranormal and frightening characters. Without further ado, here are some dark and frightening novels to curl up with on a cool Fall evening:
Jasper Dent Series – Serial Killer Hunting |
I Hunt Serial Killers (Jasper Dent #1) | Game (Jasper Dent #2) | Blood of My Blood(Jasper Dent #3) |
The Troop Nick Cutter – Parasitic Nightmare |
The Black Tongue – Ancient Witches and Sea Mythos |
Dracula – Bram Stoker – The Grand Daddy Vamp |
Looking for something less scary?
Jackaby |
So there you have it! I turn the conversation over to you, dear readers. What is your favourite season? What do you feel compelled to read? Why? And definitely check out the rest of Team Pink because they all have some really fantastic ideas!

Ooh. I Hunt Killers and Jackaby both sound interesting. Fall really is a great time for gothic style books…of course, reading them during the winter is fun as well (the dark, cold nights make them especially chilling). Dracula is definitely a must read!! It is also probably one of my all-time favorite vampire books.
Thanks so much for sharing your Seasons Readings fall list!! =)

Jackaby and I Hunt Killers are both really fantastic! I usually read crime novels during the winter..its a strange change! I totally agree Dracula is a must read! It’s one of my all time favourite vampire novels as well. I remember being really pleasantly surprised when I realized how great Dracula actually was! Thank you for commenting! <3

Wow! These books would totally put me out of my comfort zone and yet they sound SO INTERESTING! Thanks for these great suggestions.
I’m FINALLY getting around to visiting Creativity Project posts – sorry… :-\
I think I’d be most likely to read Dracula (because classic) and Jackaby (because not as scary!).

Thank you for commenting, Let!
I have a really diverse taste in books but I usually enjoy darker novels for whatever reason. It kind of makes it difficult to recommend books! 😉
I can’t wait to see what you think of Jackaby!
