Okay, so first off, this book is LONG. I don't mean "this took forever to read because it was lengthy", I mean "the first half nothing happened". I haven't read a Scarpetta novel before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew she was a leader in her literary niche with plenty of novels under her belt but I had no idea she's wrote 23 of this series! Review: MARTians
This is my first novel by Blythe Woolston and to be completely honest I had never heard of her before the release of MARTians. I was not at all disappointed, Blythe is a very talented and creative writer. MARTians is a very dark dystopian novel based on the current societal trend towards wasteful consumption. People have placed all their trust in big companies and their sole drive in life is to consume as much as possible. Review: BIGLAW
BIGLAW is a surprisingly new version of ChickLit for me. The novel is written by a lawyer with attention to basic legal terminology and legal procedures while simultaneously developing a story most women will connect with. Although I had some issues with the main character the bulk of the novel regarding Mackenzie's experience working in BIGLAW was actually exciting. I know a lot people have said in reviews that the way she was treated was horrific, but it was exciting to feel the rush of competition pouring off the pages.
