The Girl's Guide to The Apocalypse is essentially a satirical tribute to the Millennial Generation. In the wake of a catastrophe that causes all modern technology to fail and disease to spread causing zombie like creatures Verdell becomes the narrator and hero of her own tale. She's luke warm about her long term boyfriend (should she break up with him, or keep him?), her boss is obsessed with a book entitled The Secrets of Risk Management and the world has devolved into a free-for-all cannibal country. Oh, and then there's the cults. I want to start off by saying ... Continue Reading...
Review: Cinder
Why did I put Cinder off for so long?! I remember reading the synopsis and being really unexcited but I kept hearing SUCH GOOD THINGS. I kept thinking "I'll probably like it, but I have all these other books that kind of seem more interesting so I'll read those instead." Time went on. I didn't read Cinder. Review: Smoke on The Water
Smoke on the Water is the second installment of the Sisters of the Craft series. After many months of build up around the Taggart sisters and the Venatores Mali we finally got to see how the entire story ends. I am actually sad to see this series end. The lack of witchery the Sisters of the Craft series centered around was a breath of fresh air. “I feel as if I know you,” he said. “Better than I can know you. Like I’ve always known you. Like we were … destined.” “We were.” He shook his head, and my chest began to ache. He was going to deny this, deny us, and then ... Continue Reading...
