When I was a child I was fortunate enough to be part of a family of farmers. I was one of the lucky little girls who asked for a horse and got one. I got to experience, for a short while, what having a horse was like and that fostered a love for all things equestrian. I remember that I was old enough to remember my first ride, but not old enough to really learn anything concrete about horse ownership and as a result, horses will forever be magical in my mind. Cowgrrl Up: Live was surprisingly adept at capturing snippets of memories from my childhood: smells, sights ... Continue Reading...
Review: Girl’s Guide to The Apocalypse
The Girl's Guide to The Apocalypse is essentially a satirical tribute to the Millennial Generation. In the wake of a catastrophe that causes all modern technology to fail and disease to spread causing zombie like creatures Verdell becomes the narrator and hero of her own tale. She's luke warm about her long term boyfriend (should she break up with him, or keep him?), her boss is obsessed with a book entitled The Secrets of Risk Management and the world has devolved into a free-for-all cannibal country. Oh, and then there's the cults. I want to start off by saying ... Continue Reading...
Review: Death on Ibiza
Its been awhile since I read a crime thriller so when I saw Death on Ibiza I got really excited. The synopsis captured my interest because of the "vacation gone wrong", whodunit mystery. The lack of romance was a nice change because sometimes a girl just needs a read completely unlike the usual! The friendship with a local drug lord's son is worth the opportunity to live in luxury and enjoy exclusive ... Continue Reading...

Review: The Bourbon Kings
I originally got my hands on The Bourbon Kings from a friend who managed to get an eARC from NetGalley. I read 30% while waiting for her to do a few errands and had to purchase it once it came out in ebook. I can't leave any book half-read, ever. I'm a little sad to say that the little over a month wait for the book might have impacted my review a bit. If you plan on reading The Bourbon Kings you really should be ready for a complete read through without breaks or the magic will be lost. The book requires the reader to be in the moment - not rushing to catch up ... Continue Reading...
