What should you expect? Every Thursday I’ll post a list of new books I’ve received through publishers or I’ve purchased myself. I will also include a portion about my activities in the book community that are especially exciting or “bookish” in my opinion.
On The Same Page Secret Sister (#otspsecretsister) signups have opened this week and Ive been debating on throwing in my own dice for a chance to participate. The whole event is a six month cheer-giving celebration for book lovers who know the founders Brittany(@bookaddictguide) from On The Same Page, Alyssa(@WithTheBanned) from Books Take You Places and Amy from Tripping Over Books (@trippingbooks). The entire event is centered around pen pals, friendships and support. The whole event has tons of rules, but it certainly seems worth it to be able to send a little cheer to someone else in the book community.
Interested in joining the next round? Check out the FAQ & Rules post, get to know the hosts (they don’t bite!) and stalk #otspsecretsister to see all the good will this project is spreading! Regardless if I am selected by the hosts, I’ll continue to support this project because of its altruistic values. Thank you Brittany, Alyssa and Amy for being awesome!
In the spirit of getting to know everyone in the community Im also planning to be watching 27 Dresses with some really lovely ladies at Live, Love, Read’s Girl’s Night! The whole idea behind the event is to do a girl’s movie night featuring Twitter as the mode of communication. We get to chat about the guys, the dresses and the romance in two feature films:
Friday, July 24th @ 10pm EST – Sweet Home Alabama
Can’t make it? The #LLRGirlsNight is a monthly event with email reminders in case you have a busy schedule or terrible habit of forgetting things.
by John Birmingham: Purchased. I received book three of the Dave Hooper trilogy from NetGalley and immediately had to buy book two. You can’t just skip half the story in this incredible world..plus you have to support great literature when you find it! Check out my review of book one here!
When you drop a monster-killer on the Strip, all bets are off.
