\"ThursdayBookishUpdatesBow\"<\/a><\/center>Thursday Bookish Updates is a weekly post here at Silk&Serif devoted to anything book related. The main goal of this posting is to keep readers up to date on what’s going on in the community and get a taste of future posts. I will provide information on some community events I am participating in and blurbs on newly acquired titles to be reviewed at a later date. I might even slip in a few surprises here and there. <\/em><\/p>\n

I was inspired by a post I read by Kelsye at Wise Ink Blog Ultimate Bloggers Guide to Growing Your Readership<\/a>. Her list of ways to increase traffic got me thinking about how little I actually do to set schedules and really update readers on what to expect from my little slice of the inter-webs. In theory<\/i>, this feature should help keep me on track and active. My long term goal is to turn this post into a weekly newsletter of sorts outlining where we are<\/em> and where we are going. <\/em><\/p>\n

There’s nothing really to report, folks. I’ve been busy doing testing and interviews for jobs so other than reading for reviews and setting up posts for early 2016 I haven’t been very active in the book community.<\/p>\n

I also went through all the 2016 titles currently on Goodreads and found plenty of amazing titles I’m super excited to read. I’m pretty sure my TBR list is at least 50 new books long! I’ve also been checking out my stats for the last few years and comparing my pre-blogging years to my post-blogging year on Goodreads. It’s interesting to see the change in my stats where I least expected them!<\/p>\n

A 2016 release, but something that was on my TBR list as soon as I read the synopsis at YABC. I’ve already read it in one sitting and definitely loved it. A unique idea with plenty romance and science fiction to keep a reader enthralled! This is definitely a 2016 debut not to be missed!<\/p>\n

Alien queen Kora has a problem as vast as the endless crimson deserts. She\u2019s the first female ruler of her territory in generations, but her people are rioting and call for her violent younger twin brother to take the throne. Despite assassination attempts, a mounting uprising of nomadic human rebels, and pressure to find a mate to help her rule, she\u2019s determined to protect her people from her brother\u2019s would-be tyrannical rule.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

 <\/p>\n

<\/span>Eros is a rebel soldier hated by aliens and human alike for being a half-blood. Yet that doesn\u2019t stop him from defending his people, at least until Kora\u2019s soldiers raze his camp and take him captive. He\u2019s given an ultimatum: be an enslaved bodyguard to Kora, or be executed for his true identity\u2014a secret kept even from him.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

<\/span>When Kora and Eros are framed for the attempted assassination of her betrothed, they flee. Their only chance of survival is to turn themselves in to the high court, where revealing Eros\u2019s secret could mean a swift public execution. But when they uncover a violent plot to end the human insurgency, they must find a way to work together to prevent genocide.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
