\"Tree-with-four-seasons-vector-material-01\"<\/a><\/td>\nI posted about this before, but I’ve been part of a really neat blog creativity project called The\u00a0Book Blogger Creativity Project which is the brain child of the lovely Nori (Read, Write, Love<\/a>). The sole purpose of this Project was to bring together bloggers in the spirit of creativity and friendship through a group project. I have developed some new friendships and really enjoyed being part of the Pink Team: Erica<\/a> from Escape Under the Cover<\/a>, Kailia<\/a> from Life According to a Bibliophile<\/a>;\u00a0\u00a0Kj<\/a> from Birds that Love Words<\/a>, Let<\/a> from Other Side of Ordinary<\/a>, Maggie<\/a> from The Novel Orange<\/a>, Nori<\/a> from Read Write Love<\/a>, Orchid<\/a> from The Haunting of Orchid Forsythia<\/a>, Veronica<\/a> from Grounded Wanderlust<\/a> and Brittany<\/a> of Book Addicts Guide<\/a>. Our group chose to work on developing lists of really amazing reads related to specific seasons. It’s honestly been such a pleasure and honor working with so many talented bloggers during this project!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

I chose Fall for this seasonal event because its my second favourite time of the year. Sure, summer is the time for fun and sun, but Fall is the time to reinvigorate and delve into the darker parts of our book shelves. I like the darker aspects of literature and Fall is the perfect time to spoil myself without looking a bit odd reading literature that deals with death, paranormal and frightening characters. Without further ado, here are some dark and frightening novels to curl up with on a cool Fall evening:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jasper Dent Series – Serial Killer Hunting<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

\"TheTroop\"<\/a><\/td>\nThe Troop is a ghastly disturbing tale about a boy scout troop who travels to a deserted island to complete a weekend of survival training. Unfortunately, the idyllic and fun weekend turns into an experience in terror when a man who is exposed to a scientific experiment concerning tape worms finds his way to their cabin. If you’re looking for a scare and some really amazing writing, The Troop is for you.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
The Black Tongue – Ancient Witches and Sea Mythos<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
An extremely frightening novel about a witch with a taste for rotten hearts, some unique sea lore and an ancient curse to create a chilling mystery. Granny Hatchet doesn’t like trespassers. She will kill anyone she catches in her forest, remove their hear and bury it in a potato field to rot until they’re just right to eat. Once Maisa returns home to finish her masters dissertation on local folklore the past begins to catch up with her. Slowly we learn the connections between Granny Hatchet and our main characters and reveal a dark secret that could ruin all of their lives.<\/td>\n\"The<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Dracula – Bram Stoker – The Grand Daddy Vamp<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
\"Dracula\"<\/a><\/td>\nYes, this one is a bit over done and not published particularly recently, but Dracula has survived through decades of new takes on the classic vampire literature. Dracula is a classic that really requires reading because even today this novel is a Gothic and chilling tale of the undead who feast on sleeping maidens and control elements beyond mortal understanding.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Jackaby<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
The mystery of who brutally murdered towns folk is just the type of thing Jackaby is uniquely qualified to deal with while training his new assistant Abigail Rook. The duo deal with werewolves, strange frogs, ghosts and enchanted animals all the while dealing<\/strong> with the non-believing Police. The tale of Jackaby is a humourous and mysterious take on the Sherlock Holmes lore which would be an excellent read for Fall if you aren’t much of a fan of horror, gore and the grotesque.<\/td>\n\"Jackaby\"<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
